Hi,
I am trying to find the marriage of John Emmett and Sarah Hanes (Haynes, Haines) I think it should be Bray or Cookham Berkshire. Their first child was born in 1834 so I imagine the marriage to between 1830 to 1835. Sarah was born in 1818 in Berkshire.
Not having much luck any suggestions welcome,
Thank you,

Hi Abiam,
There is a marriage of John Emmett & Sarah Crutchfield on 12 May 1833 at Bray, Berkshire,
according to family Search.

Hi, Thanks for that. It is a long time since I worked on this tree and don't know where I got the name Hanes could well be wrong! Will have to delve further,

Maybe its a family name, you know, comes as by way of a second forename.

Hi,
Tend to think the name is not Hanes/Haines/Haynes, for any marriage to an Emmett. Is a Sarah Hanes to a John Sturges 1831 Berkshire.
However familysearch.org does show numerous children to John and Sarah

Where was the first child born, please? If Sarah was born in 1818, first child born 1834, she would have been very young. A marriage as early as 1830 would have been legal, but unlikely I think.
Do you have them on any census?

That looks as though that is where the name Hanes comes from if Charles and Maria are her parents.
Will look for the Hanes parents on IGI
Thanks Vicwinnan

Not having any luck! As a lot of my family had the misfortune to be living in Tyrells buildings I thought it was going to be fairly easy. Wrong as I realised from the 1841 that they were not born in the county. Really don't know where to try next and think this is why I gave up on this branch a few years ago!

Hi
Family search has a Sarah Crutchfield born 10 Jan 1815 baptised Bray 26 Mar 1815 parents Samuel and Joanna, who would be worth considering especially as your Sarah's first child is Samuel. Samuel and Joanna are in Cookham Union Workshouse in 1851 but I can't find them in 1841.

Hi,
In case it should prove useful, although it looks now as if the Hanes name is not the one.
Although it says this Maria was born in Cookham, she is the same age as the Maria in the 1841 census, so maybe worth investigating.

Hi,
It looks as though you have the right marriage. And there seem to be a lot of children trying to check them out. Thanks for your help i think we are on the right track and maybe the Hanes will connect somewhere
