Title: Woodham of Stow Longa c1820
Post by: hantsdp on Tuesday 29 January 13 14:59 GMT (UK)
I am trying to find the marriage of William Woodham b 1799 in Milton Ernest but whose children were all baptised at Stow Longa. From the baptism of his children I know his wife was Elizabeth.

This could be the birth registration of their youngest child, it would show the mothers maiden name.

September qtr 1840
WOODHAM  Louisa
St Neots    14   215

I did cross this out but it is a possibility - trying to do two things at once.  ::)

My GGmother was Eliza Woodham born 1844 so have now got a copy of her birth certificate, This shows her mother as being Elizabeth Woodham formerly SUMMERLAND. This could possibly be the Ravensden marriage. The 1841 census shows William and Elizabeth living in Stow Longa where the children are christened. I am struggling however to find a christeneing of Elizabeth Summerling or Summerland anywhere in Hunts or Beds.

After a long break I am back on the trail of my family. One anomaly is in the death/burial of Elizabeth (nee Summerling/Summerland). The death certificate shows she died in Jan - Mar quarter 1849 aged 51; the burial entry at Stow Longa shows she was buried on 5 Jan 1849 aged 66!
