Please can anyone help?
I'm trying to find any information about Henry Leake esq of Cork (I don't know if that is the city or the county). I know that he had at least two daughters who married about 1805, so that means he would have had to have been born about 1780 or earlier. I know that by 1808, he was dead, and that he was probably C of I. I'd be very grateful for any help/suggestions,
Jamesbo

Very difficult given the timeframe you are looking at.
www.nationalarchives.ie 1901 Ireland census has entries for the surname :)

www.limerickcity.ie/media/limerick the following:
Ennis Chronicle Sat 18th June 1805.
Married last Wednesday in Limerick. Mr William Alley , an eminent Tallow Chandler to Miss Eleanor Leake 2nd daughter of the late Henry Leake of Cork. :)

Hi ballydw,
First of all I'd like to say a big thank you for your help and your replies. I understand the difficulty re the date, but it wouldn't surprise me if Henry Leake would have been mentioned in something like Debrett's Peerage, (as a younger son of a younger son?), but I cannot find any such suitable
reference book. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if he was mentioned in some sort of legal aspect eg a will or property transaction. I cannot get to Cork myself, and all online attepts have been fruitless, so if anyone can help, I'd be so pleased.

Hi Ballydw,
Thanks once more for all that you have tried to do for me - unfortunately I have already drawn a blank on all those sites. I've been interested in the Leakes in Rathkeale for quite a while, but I cannot establish a link between them and my Henry Leake. It's all very frustrating! Again, all I can say, is that if anyone can shed any light on this, then please in touch.
Thanks again,
Jamesbo
