Can anyone help on what happened to this couple please? He was one of five brother policemen and she was a teacher. The last "sighting" I can find about them is is 1922 on the electoral roll at Tonna Police Station. I know he was retired from the Force in October 1922 because of ill health - from there on can't find either of them I am now a senior citizen and don't have transport to travel from Manchester. Is there anyone that might be able to help me please. Did they go back to Ireland?. Would be willing to pay any expenses. Any help much appreciated.

Oh I've got it from a census . 1875ish
There doesn't seem to be a death on the England and Wales index. But there is one in Dublin Ireland, though I do not have access to details.
Silly me, I didn't note the year -

Many thanks to all for your rapid response to my "plea" for help. Patrick Clinch was born in Ferns Co.Wexford Sept 1874. He married Kate Reardon August 1908 Our Lady's RC Church Miskin and she was said to be a Head Teacher. According to 1911 census she was then 35 yrs old She was born circa 1873/76 Miskin. I found a death in Dublin South Oct/Dec 1/4 of 1940 - can't be certain he's my "man" - if no other leads will sent ford the cert. What happened to Kate????
Thanks again to all.

That other thread mentions all 5 brothers by name, as well as parents.
Family from Camolin.
There are 5 pages of posts - well worth a read through?

Yes I've seen this thank you - it was me who put most of the info on.
Thanks again.

I have just been thru all my Clinch research and find that I did send for the cert. in June last year of the Patrick Clinch's death listed in Dublin 1940 - sadly he was not my "man" - surely both of them can't have disappeared without trace since 1922!!!.

Ye, 1940, that was the one I saw. He was of the correct age.
How did you rule him out from the death cert?
-
His death cert said he was a gardener at a convent in Donnybrook. They did some investigations for me told me he was buried in Deansgrane Cemetery with his wife Annie -(not Kate) and son John F. Clinch so that is why I ruled it out. What do you think? I suppose hate could have died/divorced and he remarried. He hadn't any children with Kate Reardon as far as I can find. :)

I'd say it was worth looking for the marriage of Patrick clinch to an Annie to see if he was a widower.
Could they tell you how old the son was?
-
There is another Ireland death that might be him
March 1892 Dublin north
Patrick clinch
Bn 1875
That might be worth getting the cert for instead!
Modified to add - forget that . Yours was alive in 1922!

Thanks to yourself and Joyce on the Dublin City site I think I now know that this Patrick is not "mine" Joyce's research found that John F Clinch was born in 1903 and the family were on the 1911census living at Cookstown Skreen Co. Meath. She suggested I write to Deansgrange asking who bought the grave but I don't think that will lead me anywhere. Patrick and Kate Reardon's whereabouts still remains a "mystery" as with others in my research. Thanks a million for your interest.

The 1901 census show Kate Reardon(26) School mistress at a Catholic School born Mountain Ash with her father John(66) living on his own means. August 6 1908 she married Patrick Clinch in Our Lady's Roman Catholic Church Miskin Road Mountain Ash. She is said to be a 32 year old Spinster and Head Teacher of an Elementary School. Her father is deceased and her address is 73 Clarence St. Mountain Ash. Annie Theresa Irvine is a witness. The last known of her is on the Electoral Roll at Tonna Police Station with her husband Patrick in October 1922. Does anyone know anything of these people please. Desperate for any info - can't find any deaths etc.
Thanks
