Title: Constantine George Macris immigrated to Australia from Greece
Post by: Caryn_1 on Tuesday 22 January 13 04:06 GMT (UK)
Hello All

Am wondering if anyone can help me trace when my late great uncle George's father - Constantine George Macris - came to Australia please?

Constantine was known to the family as 'Kostas' and married a Helena Stewart in Sydney in 1913 ( his name is recorded on the marriage certificate as Kostas G Makris, however, the correct spelling is and has always been Macris).

I believe Constantine was born in Pyrgos in Greece around 1888 and died in Sydney in 1956.

I would like to know when he came to Australia and whether he came with any other family members.

Appreciate any help.

Cheers
Caryn

Thank you so much Leanne.

The stat dec signed by Constantine on the NAA site has given me a lot of answers that I needed to have, including his arrival date AND solved a mystery as to whether he lived in Egypt for a period of time.

Again, many thanks.
