I am looking for the emigration of Mary sometime between 1882 & 1912 as I have been supplied with information on a different board that she married a Frank Richardson in 1912 in Sydney. I know that Thomas Nicholas (from a different post on this board) and Isabella Hedley Boyd both emigrated to Australia along with other members of the family. Mary is Thomas & Isabella's sister. Isabella married Wilson Richardson before emigrating. This information on the other board also suggested that she died in Sydney in 1961. She was born in Newcastle upon Tyne and had the father of William Teasdale (sometimes Teasel) and mother of Isabella Hedley.
Here's hoping somebody can help
Many Thanks
Mark Boyd

Ah!!
I noted FRANK was absent from the E. Roll in 1954.

it's very sad reading Sue. He was the pilot of a Wellington bomber which failed to return to base after a bombing raid on Berlin. Nothing was ever found about where the aircraft went down or what happened to the crew.
There are lots of poignant letters from the family asking if he could be a prisoner of war or wanting any info at all. Sadly nothing was found and he (and the crew) was eventually presumed dead.

Ros

I'm having doubts - have I gone astray?
The Mary Richardson who died in 1961 with parents William and Isabella was registered at Newcastle.
There were 4 Mary Richardson's who died in NSW in 1961.
The death notice I mentioned was for a Mary Richardson with husband Frank - but she died at Vaucluse.
regards,
Ros
adding :just found that there are a number of trees on ancestry which agree with this - but they do not have the death cert so may well have gone astray too (easily done ;D )
adding : death notice for Wilson http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article18261319
and Isabella http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article17908035 (they don't help rule above in/out)
adding : death notice for the Frank Richardson of Vaucluse http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article18241756 (which doesn't help rule in/out either). Probate record at NSW state archives

Ros,
http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/15161597?searchTerm="wilson richardson"&searchLimits=l-title=35
This item clearly links FRANK RICHARDSON the Dairyman/Milk Vendor to WILSON RICHARDSON.
There was serious falling out which will explain why they are not mentioned at all in each others Death Notices.

As a matter of interest, ISABELLA and WILSON were having children in the Waverley area between 1912 and 1918 as were MARY and FRANK.
Just to confirm the death of FRANK Snr in 1951 this item deals with his estate with a joint executrix TREASURE RICHARDSON Wed 3rd April 1952

TREASURE was an actress and singer. ;D There are several items about her.

No, I agree!

Thank you all for this
Just ruled out Frank Richardson that was MIA as the senior one as followed the link about the yorkshire accidents. The Frank Richardson listed was a Sergeant. This stated that he was born in Australia (this may his son though). The Frank Richardson that married a Mary Boyd was born in England in Northumberland
-
Yes definitely the son (Frank jun) - he was aged 20 when he was MIA. He was in the Scots College cadets but then trained as a pilot and was the pilot of a crew that disappeared without trace.
His birthdate was 28 May 1921 in Sydney NSW and his NOK was Frank Richardson and he enlisted Sydney.
cheers,
Ros
(well worth reading the digitised records - have a box of tissues handy. The family including sister Treasure and father Frank wrote repeatedly (desperately!) to get more (ANY) information but there was nothing to be found)
-
After all this we have not helped with the immigration record you were seeking. :P
But it seems that despite the feud which took place in 1910 between the brothers. Frank went on to marry MARY BOYD, his sister-in-law’s sister a couple of years later .

Hi Mark
Mary emigrated in 1908. I am a dependant of Isabella and Wilson Richardson. I have lovely photos of them and their children in Waverley (now Queens Park). Wilson was my great great grandfather. It was so interesting to read about the falling out Wilson and Frank had as I never knew about this.
