Hi. Ralph Goodyear was married to my 2nd Cousin Lilian.
Ralph dies in 1941 & probate is granted as follows -
Ralph Goodyear of 161 Westwood Lane, Welling, Kent died 13 May 1941 @ 11 Chandos Street, Sheffield. Administration Llandudno - 12 July 1943. Lilian Goodyear - widow effects £582
BUT there is also another granting of probate some 9 years later???
Ralph Goodyear of 161 Westwood Lane, Welling, Kent died 13 May 1941 @ 11 Chandos Street, Sheffield. Administration London - 14 August 1954. Albert Edward Clark, lorry driver. Effects £1000. Former Grant P.R. 12 July 1943
I have no idea who Albert Edward Clark is. Lilian may have remarried a Mr Clark but that shouldn't effect the original probate should it??
Does anyone know why there would be two lots of probate?
Thanks

Usually applies if an asset comes to light after the original application has through the courts and instructions are needed for it to be disposed of properly.
Note the value of his effects in each entry.

I had this when a relative had left an income or other to his wife until her death. On her death his will instructed it to be passed elsewhere so when she died it had to go back to probate.
