Title: John Henry Rickard
Post by: Vasquez109 on Sunday 13 January 13 09:37 GMT (UK)
Just wondering if any kind person can help track down a certain John Henry Rickard born in 1856, Swansea.

Can find him in 1891 at Class: RG12; Piece: 4476; Folio: 11; Page: 53 but not before. Anyone have any clues where he could be hiding?

Thank you.
David.

GR8 finds K.G in 71 & 61.
Family are in 1881 with no John.
He may have died in 1906 aged 51 yrs in Swansea.

Hi David, they won't be a couple in 1841 as they weren't old enough.
Their eldest was 5 in 1861 so the marriage in 1854 to Ann Williams looks spot on.
There's a Thomas Rickard in 1841 aged 10 yrs (ages rounded off) with mother Maryann
and again in 1851 this time as Richard, he's a copperman!!

Finally, 1841 census.

HO107, 1426, 7/5, 1
High Street, St Johns, Swansea

Rickard, Maryanne  F  40  Independent
Rickard, Mary  F  15
Rickard, Thomas  M  10
Rickard, Jane  F  12
Rickard, Anne  F  8

But I think the enumerator made an error with Thomas' age?
All the other households, the children are in descending age sequence.
Thomas is down as 10, but comes between siblings of 15 and 12?!
An age of 13 would fit ;D

suspect that the 1851 street name that looks like Dafalty on the census should be Dyfatty, the right area for a copperman.

 ;)
