Hi,
Can you give us a bit more information of the people you are interested in? Also where is Drumballyrony? I can find Ballyroney near Banbridge.
Regards

We have just the thing for you- Surname Interests Table. Link at the bottom of Forum page. I did a search there for Frackleton - but unfortunately chippie hasn't been online since 2007:

Hi,
Drumballyroney is a Parish and there is no townland of that name. Drumballyroney Parish includes part of Rathfriland and some townlands to the north of Rathfriland.
Cheers, Sam.

Was looking for relatives of these and seeing you have given me a Mary Frick., I can look into that, thank you.

I have since found out that my gt gt grandfather, William Frackleton and his wife Jane retired back to County Down, where William died and Jane returned to Liverpool where the two had been living for thirty years. I still can't find a death certificate for William who died in 1910 as I don't know where the couple retired to. If Bambridge is that area where do I write to for help. I'm not too hot on figuring things out I'm afraid, but have been ok sorting computers out...lol..cheers posters :>)

Is this them?

Edited to add: Seafin is a townland in the civil parish of Drumballyroney. Note his occupation of "Superannuated Liverpool Police".

This is a possible candidate for the death:

Is that them in 1901 (reply #9)?
-
yes that is they...only found that myself a week or so ago..you wouldn't think I'd been tracking them down, or rather him down for over ten years, had numerous letters from the police force who are still trying to track down a portrait of him that I grew up with as a child in my bedroom. It was him in full uniform and with that beard and tash too. Sergeant Freckleton where art though...lol you couldn't conjour that up as well could you Gaffy?

Just checking, my post forced a next page and I wanted to make sure you had seen the post on the previous page...
Re. your searching for 10 years etc., that is always the way, it's Murphy's law. :)
BTW, is yours the picture uploaded onto the Ancestry website (with the legend "photo is from a painting commissioned by his colleague at his retirement from the police force after 25 years service"?) That is some beard!
-
You were right to check that I had seen your post Gaffy, I am a scatterbrain at times. ??? yes that is my pic of William that was commissioned on his retirement,he had to go to London to pick it up, so the story goes..he must have been well thought of..looks a right rough basket if you ask me :o
That is the picture I "found" after five years of enquiries, thought it might have been a copy of the one I was brought up with, but no. That was a black and white one and was left in my gran's house when she moved out! I can't believe that she didn't ask me if I wanted it or not, I only lived two doors away! My gran's side were from Armagh, got a right story to tell out my gran's brother who went to live in Kansas. A story of him supposed to have set fire to his own church, and being abducted by two or three geezers and dumped tied up in a mud hole on the outskirts of his town, wow1 Thanks again Gaffy.

They may even not be cousins, BUT
➢ There are two Frackelton family trees in the Blackwood Family History manuscript trees Collection in the LinenHall library, Belfast.
