Ellen Louisa Cadman, age 21, a spinster of 14, Westwood Road, Atherstone married Charles Edward King age 37, A Widower, of 8, Westwood Road, Atherstone a Window Cleaner at St Mary's Church Atherstone on 29 March 1929. The father of Ellen is given as William Joseph Cadman a Miner. No name is given for Charles' father.
My problem is I can find no other records for Charles Edward King. If anyone can help me to discover any more information about this person either forward of or before the wedding it would be appreciated

If he was 37 in 1929 that gives a date of birth about 1892. There is this death
Charles E King
Birth Date: abt 1892
Age at Death: 47
Jan-Feb-Mar 1939
Birmingham Warwickshire
Volume: 6d Page: 710

There are several Charles Kings born in Warwickshire between 1891 and 1893 but only one Charles Edward King
Charles Edward King
Dec quarter 1891
Hinckley Warwickshire
7a 72
However, this is presuming that he was born in Warwickshire, as there were 14 Charles Edward Kings born during the same period else where in the UK.

Many thanks for your help groom & fastfusion
The problem is selecting the correct Charles Edward King.
One can assume there were no children unless they were born overseas, probably unlikely, but . . . .
-
The Hinckley birth looks likely. There is a Charles E King aged 9, son of an unmarried woman Lucy King (aged 29) who was living in Hinckley with her sisters Emma and Ellen in the 1901 census. He looks to have been in Higham in the next census.
Atherstone is not too far from Hinckley.
There is also this Hinckley area marriage entry in Sep Q 1911 of a Charles E King to either a Sarah Perkins or a Minnie Haynes that may be of interest.

Many thanks for that TB - Looks very likely - Andy

The marriage looks to be to Minnie Haynes as there are these King children with a mothers maiden name of Haynes, as well as an Atherstone link....
Births Dec 1911 King Minnie E (maiden name Haynes) Hinckley 7a 89
Births Mar 1913 King Charles F (maiden name Haynes) Atherstone 6d 1228
Births Jun 1915 King Alfred (maiden name Haynes) Atherstone 6d 1210 and King Sydney (maiden name Haynes) Atherstone 6d 1210
And then there is this death in Jun Q 1928 King Minnie E 36 Atherstone 6d 579, which is just before your next Atherstone marriage.....

Thank you again TB.
It all fits - there is a burial of a Minnie King wife of Charles E , window cleaner recorded for 30 April 1928 at Atherstone.

Very good!
If i may ask, where did you manage to find your Atherstone burial details?
