Hi
I'm still trying to track down Richard Taviner's parents, with little success. He married Sarah Hulbert (born 1772) on 8th November 1790 at St Nicholas, Biddestone, Wiltshire (according to parish records). I don't have a marriage certificate to find names of his parents.
Any suggestions?
(He had 5 children - Elizabeth (b 1791) , Amy (b 1804), William (b 1807), Chapman (b 1809)& Richard b 1812, all in Biddestone)

Hi Yourself,
Familysearch.org shows to following possibility;
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NRG4-XQM
Richard's family (wife/children) is listed on the same site.
There is a tree in Ancestry that should help (unless it is yours)
Good Luck
Richard

No baptism in Biddestone for a Richard Taviner. There is a James & Jane baptising children around that time but no Richard.
Did find the following in the North Wraxall Baptism Transcriptions.
4 Feb 1770. Richard Taverner. Son. Richard & Rebecka. North Wraxall.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that information. I think that my parents found this Richard (son of Richard & Rebecka, North Wraxall) & they said that he died as a baby, so couldn't be our Richard. Do you have a date of death for him ? They could be wrong about this.
Thanks

Have no other info for deaths in North Wraxall.
You may already know but it looks as if Richard & Sarah had four other children, I will list them in case you do not have these baptisms.
8 June 1794. Ann Tavener. Dau.
3 Sept 1797. Jane " Dau.
5 May 1799. Jacob " Son.
24 April 1799. Issac " Son.

according to this link Richard parents are Richard and Rebecka
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NRG4-XQM
which I note has already been given
the microfilm scope of Biddestone is
Biddestone Parish Registers
BAPTISMS 1690-1909 MARRIAGES 1720-1829
MARRIAGES 1689-1825
check Hugh Wallis on ancestry for the individual film details
The baptist church there didnt start until 1880
http://history.wiltshire.gov.uk/community/getcom.php?id=19 discribes Biddestone as being full of quakers and fanatics
an email to Swindon Archives or Corsham may resolve this
Or check Phillimores for a possible marriage
or find the quakers lists in the History of Wiltshire & Notes PDFs
for a possible marriage
