Title: I can`t modify

Why can`t I find a modify tab, I want to add COMPLETED to the  Subject Title of my first posts.

There is a modify but it was  only on the last post.

??????????    I have just posted this, and there is a MODIFY on this.  Don`t get it at all.

I`m not liking this new format at all, it`s just too " busy" , too much clutter on the page.

You can't modify to show Completed any more, you have to contact the mod of the board in question.  There is now a Report to Moderator on your own postings which is different than before when you couldn't write to a mod about your own post.

The mods will have a lot more work completing topics for everyone, or else many topics will just stay open.  I suppose the thing to do is write one more reply telling people you are completing the topic and then lock it. ;)

OK, but why is there no MODIFY option on the posts ?

I don't know.  You can modify up to 24 hours, but after that you can't.

Hi,

You can modify your posts for 24 hours. This should be long enough to notice any typos and correct them.
After that you do as Lizzie says, but:

Reply on the topic to thank everybody, adding *completed* to the title of this reply, but we advise against locking it.

"Completed" is a relative term. If you are absolutely sure that it is completed (definitions, technical queries, etc) then it won't hurt to lock it, but requests about people are never really 'completed' ....
1) new material is constantly being published on the internet, and someone may be able to add something later.
2) days, months or even years later, someone may find your topic in a search engine and also be interested in these names, and join RootsChat, just so they can reply on the topic.

Thanks, I have put COMPLETED on the one topic as the lady  and child both died and there are no descendants.

I do see the point in not locking it though.

 I guess the REMOVE option also expired in 24 hours as well ?

Don't like the new format at all....old one was much more end user friendly!
