Looking for Marriage of thomas Cassidy b. 17? to Bridget McGuire b. abt 1797
they had two children that I know of
James Cassidy b abt 1834
and
Michal Cassidy b. Abt 1839
Bridget and these two sons are listed in Scottish census records in 1851 but Thomas is not listed with him. Thomas is also documented as deceased in his son's marriage record in 1856. He may have died in Ireland as I can find no Scottish death record.
Bridget's death record in Scotland has her parents listed as Patrick McGuire and Ann McCabe
Any information on any of the above family members would be greatly appreciated.
I cannot find information to pinpoint where in ireland they may have come from.

Cassidy, Maguire and McCabe are names that were most commonly found in the north monaghan and south fermanagh area. One side of my own family are from the Rosslea/Clones area and these names feature heavily.
My own Cassidy branch lived in Drumguiff in the early 1800s. My Maguires lived in Scotshouse and interestingly there are Patricks and Bridigets in that family, but a generation later than yours.
But hopefully knowing the general area may be of help to you. The challange is that there are no church records in the area earlier than the 1850s and civil registrations were not in place also.
Try posting on the Fermanagh or Monaghan sub forum and someone may be able to provide further assistance. There is a project underway to document graves in Fermanagh but no sign of your Thomas up there yet. http://www.discovereverafter.com/
Also visit the rooneys of rosslea site and the claires ancestry site, both contain a wealth of information that is helpful for anyone researching their family in the area.

Duplicate posts on different boards are not recommended so best to stick with this one topic on Ireland-General board until a more exact location can be found. If and when that happens this topic can simply be moved to the appropriate county board.
