Hello
I was wondering if anyone knew where i can get my hands on a cheap microfiche reader? I have a number of microfiche that i have to travel to the local archives to view. Would be nice to do it in my own home.
Thanks

I have the same problem. Whether we like it or not Microfiche are old technology. There are companies who can transfer Microfiche to readable documents on paper. Or there are machines that you can buy that will do it for you. Or thirdly buy a used reader. Mostly on the Internet - buyer beware! I have attached a useful article on the subject.

Hi
I bought mine from my local family history society when they were updating. It might be worth contacting your local Records Office or FHS to see if they have any going spare.

I have a good one (when I looked at it last it was) and I am in Parramatta NSW.
If you can pick it up ... it's yours for free ..... or a carton of Toohey's New beer if you are so inclined.

Hi Rich
Can you update your profile so we know where in the world you are?
A daytrip to pick up a reader from Brisbane or NSW may be out of the question.
