Hi,
Wondered if someone may able to look up a burial for me in Ardwick cemetery.
It is for a Martha Taylor buried 1843.
Would this give any details of anyone else buried in the same plot- not sure how this works sorry.
Thank you
Cissie

Martha Taylor of Ardwick aged 1 year and 1 month buried 29th September died from measles and whooping cough. It was a common grave not a private one, so no other family member buried in the same grave.

Thank you Mosiefish for looking that up,
Sorry to say it is the wrong Martha. Really am stuggling to find this ancestor-proving to be very difficult!!!!
Cheers

Do you have any further details - other than the fact that he is the one who died 1843 :)

Hi Heywood,
Martha Taylor( born 1782 ish) was married to William Taylor in 1803 in Manchester Cathedral and had 3 children Margaret, James and Martha. William lived at 14 or 18 Higher Ardwick- seen on marriage certificates but I'm not sure where he was on 1841 census. There is a William with a Margaret on Union Street Ardwick which I am taking to be my William and a mistake for Martha. Guessing she was alive then there is no record for either of them in 1851 and by 1861 he was a widower in Pilkington.
I was guessing she died after 1841 and before 1861. She is not the death in St Thomas's 1842 nor now at Ardwick cemetery in 1843. She may have died before 1841 but I am not going to be able to find that out as it is before records began and Martha and Taylor are both common names.
Any suggestions would be more than welcome. I don't have access to findmypast so cannot look the other burials up in Ardwick and ancestry doesn't have access to these burial records.
Thank you for taking an interest.
Happy Xmas
Cissie

Lancashire BMD http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/ has ages for Manchester deaths. There may be something there to help.
