I would appreciate any help i coud get in finding the parents of Rosina Johns(1831-1905) of Breage. She married John Meager in 1849 (Free BMD) in the Helston Registration District. On subsequent censuses her place of birth is listed as Breage. The 1841 census listed a Roseina Johns in the Breage household of William and Dorcase Johns. She was 10 yrs, which would give her a birthdate of c1831. However, i could not find her baptism listing in the Breage Parish Records, even though those of her siblings from the 1841 census were there. I also could not find a listing of the 1849 marriage in the Breage Records. I did find a listing of the birth of a Roseina Adelaide Johns in the Helston Records in 1831. Her parents were listed as Samuel and Sara Johns. He was a Helston carpenter. I could not find the household of Samuel Johns of Helston in the 1841 census.Do you think the Roseina Johns listed in the Breage 1841 census in the household of William Johns is the same person whose father is listed as Samuel Johns in the Helston birth record? Unfortunately, the Breage 1841 census doesn't say whether Roseina is a daughter. Could she have been visiting Breage at the time of the census? It is interesting to note that the spelling of Roseina is on both the birth and 1841 census records. It appears to have been changed to Rosina at the time of the 1849 marriage. I would really appreciate any suggestions on how to find out who her parents were. Regards, David

Cornwall OPC Database has this:
16th February 1831 at Helston
Rosina Adelaide Johns
daughter of Samuel & Sarah Johns
Father a carpenter
Can't see another Rosina Johns in the whole of Cornwall, between 1825 and 1836?

there are 2 other baptisms in Helston listed for Samuel & Sarah Johns on Cornwall OPC
1829 James Petherick & 1833 Sharlotte Sarah
on 1841 there is a Charlotte Johns, 8 with Elizabeth Petherick (grandmother?) 8 Church St, Helston.
At a guess parents have died or moved away for work & the children are with various relatives.
this is the Cornish OPC incredibly useful website http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/home/ (http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/home/)
