Just reviewing posts again - Lavinia named her daughter Agnes - so Agnes Davies / Isaac Heaton - badger Street Bury (1871) would seem to match?
Thanks
-
looks like Lavinia had a brother Isaac Heaton from 1891 census
there was an Isaac Heaton born Dec qu 1874 so Agnes must have been pregnant when her husband died.
Off to bed now,so I,ll leave you to get it sorted in your head, its hard work digesting it isnt it,I still have trouble when I try explaining to my mum. ;D ;D
-
Thanks.
I have no first cousins, so no opportunity to develop my 'genealogy' skills, before starting with Isaac Heaton!
I had (wrongly now?) assumed from the Lavinia marriage cert that her father was alive in 1899, as a 'Rank or Profession' was shown - not 'deceased'.
So son named after deceased father - but never any mention in the family of grandmother's brother (Isaac Heaton 'jnr') - maybe my next project?
Lavinia Heaton married William (James) Kidd from Larbert, Stirlingshire. another headache! The Kidd family generations alternated James and William through the generations (until my mother put her foot down!!)
Thanks again for your help.

Hi,
With help from you, and others, I think I have 'cracked it'. I can also now see why I could not find my way through the info, and why I had heard nothing about my grandmother, Lavinia's, family background in the past.
Lavinia's father Isaac died in 1874, and in the same year her brother Isaac was born. Her mother Agnes (nee Davies) after whom Lavina named her daughter) had two further 'partners', and in 1881 she is Agnes Howarth, then 1891, Agnes Smith, and finally a widow at 92 Bridge Street in 1901, from where Lavinia married William Kidd in 1899.
Thanks again,
Stuart

Hi Stuart,
I'm not sure if we have been in contact regarding your Kidd family (although I think we may have regarding the building at Larbert Cross).
Who were your William Kidds parents, have you much on the Kidd family line - would be great to hear from you.

Hi,
Yes, we were talking about the the 'JK' plaque on the old smithy in Larbert (but were 'moderated' for some reason - hence my silence since)
I have moved my inquiries on a little - and think (stress 'think') that I am descended from John Kidd and Christina Cairns (Gledhill), William Kidd and Mary Smith (Larbert) thence GGF James Kidd (JK on plaque?) GF William and father James. (William married Isaac Heaton's daughter Lavinia)
My father sometimes spoke of his cousins - but met only one ('Babs') - so this is probably my next area of research.
Regards,
Stuart
