Hello all,
I am trying to trace my DEANS family line.
I have a John Deans born 1821 at Dikeside to John DEANS and Jane MOSCRIP.
John (1821) married Jane HOGEARTH abt 1842 in Coldstream.
John and Jane jr, emigrated to Australia in 1853.
I have data down from John and Jane but am trying to trace their forbears.
John DEANS married Jane MOSCRIP abt 1804 in Roxburgh
John was the son of George DEANS and Margaret MINTO
Jane was the daughter of John MOSCRIP and Janet CRANSTON
This is all I have on the lines back. Any help, suggestions or leads would be very greatfully accepted. Also anyone who is tracing these families too I would like to hear from.
Thank you all :)

Hi
The IGI has a christening at Crailing 22.4.1781 for John DEANS son of George Deans and Margaret MINTO
Are you sure about the parentage of Jean MOSCRIP, wife of John Deans? The only one I can see with parents John Moscrip and Janet CRANSTON was christened 25.3.1810 at Morebattle (much too late).
A more likely candidate would seem to be Jean Moscrip chr 19.10.1780 at the Jedburgh Associate Congregation, daughter of Andrew Moscrip and Jean SCOT.
Regards,
Lesley
