Can anyone help decipher this name please?
Many thanks :)

hi,,,is it a forename,,surname,,placename?
-
...and if possible, a bit more of the handwriting for comparison purposes might be helpful :)
Looks like "Meriamm" possibly, but as gortonboy says, some context would be good.
-
Could I offer Merricum as a possible :-\

The word Merrieum is used as a first name in one google search and as a middle name in others, though the one here, as suggested, needs to be put into context.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions :)
It's the name of the ship that arrived 1867 Victoria, Australia.

The MERMERUS was a ship that sailed later- maybe it sailed in 1867 too?

I wonder if it's Mariann? If the 'a's aren't fully joined up at the top then I think this is a possibility, more of the same person's writing would be very helpful :)
