Elizabeth Beatrice PARIS died 26 Jan 1978 and is buried at the Enfield Cemetery, Adelaide
I am wondering if anyone has access to Enfield memorial inscriptions and also Adelaide Advertiser death notices for this person.
Elizabeth and her husband Robert Smibert PARIS had one daughter Elizabeth Leroy PARIS in 1916
Robert was died in France in August 1917. He is my wife's great uncle
I am trying to find any family of Elizabeth Beatrice PARIS and her daughter Elizabeth Leroy PARIS.
Many thanks Dale

Thanks Leanne
Funny with one with the name
Gordon and his brother Roy have double birth registrations
as MUGG and MURRIE for Gordon and MUGG and MURRAY for Roy.
Cant find a death for Gordon under MURRIE or MUGG.
The MURRIE comes from Gordon's paternal Grandmother's maiden name.
Many thanks again Dale

I am related through the Mugg/Murrie family. LeRoy Paris married Gordon Murrie, my grandmother's cousin. Gordon's father is Ernest Mugg. Due to a issues with the name of Mugg, some members of the family chose to change their name. Ernest's two sons changed their name as adults - Gordon to Murrie (the correct spelling of the family name) and his brother Roy changed his surname to Murray (wrong spelling, obviously didn't check!).
Ernest's mother's maiden name was Murrie.
I met Gordon and LeRoy many years ago.
Just thought you would like the origin of the name change!

response to lois watson from gordon's daughter. am in contact with dale who posted earlier searches.
you may wish to note ...le roy should be leroy not le roy. ( it was incorrectly recorded in the family history book published a few years ago) it was a name which my mother always disliked and in later life she reverted to using her first name of elizabeth. leroy was her second name.
also my be helpful to note gordon's brother used the spelling of murray by choice in adult life.

Hello - I am doing a bit of research on Robert Smibert Paris for a local fallen World War one soldiers project and I wondered whether there was any significance in the unusual naming of his daughter, ie Elizabeth Leroy Paris. Leroy I believe is more commonly linked with males. I just wondered whether it was a family link, or perhaps a mate of Robert's who had been killed at the war. Can anyone help?

Hi
Dont have any idea of the origin of the name Leroy in this case. It doesnt appear in any other family members to the best of my knowledge. ditto Smibert.
I would be most interested in what you find of Robert's service. He married in February 1916, his daughter was born November 1916 and his died in August 1917. I dont have his enlistment date so dont know if he ever saw his daughter.

Hello Dale - thanks for that. I would love to send you the draft story I have done as it has all the details I think you would be interested in but I'm new at this forum and I really haven't worked out yet how to send stuff properly. Anyway - I'd prefer to send it so not everyone else can see it at this stage too - as it is a draft. But no, Robert would never have seen his daughter Leroy - he was already overseas when she was born. Sad.

Have also sent a personal message to Kathy.
The service record makes for interesting and very sad reading.

I know I'm late to the party and I haven't brought much, but here is the death notice for Elizabeth Beatrice Paris as requested in the original post:
Advertiser, published February 3rd 1978.
Paris, Beatrice Elizabeth. On Jan 25th, loving mother of Leroy.
(it would seem the date of death was the 25th with the cremation on 26th.)
