It's best to post as much detail as you already know to make it easier for us to help you.

"Charles Mc Curley b.abt 1847 Ireland d. 13 nov 1919 dumbarton scotland."

Even if Charles was the eldest child, Charles & Bridget would have been married well before the start of civil registration so you'll need to search for any existing church records for the family. The earlier topic puts son Charles in Broughshane area in 1880.

The first complete census for Ireland is 1901. Only fragments of earlier ones survive- it the above case this is an extract taken as proof for a pension claim before the census was destroyed.

Hi,
As Aghadowey said these were recorded from the 1841 census so there was no need to record them from a later census.

Hello

I understand your answer, however, how can I connect this family to Charles.
I know he was born in 1847,

Hugh may be a sibling/cousin.

Parents Charles and bridget?

Civil registration of births started 1864 so there will be no birth certificate for Hugh born 1853.
Did Hugh die in Ireland? The civil registration index is online (free) and you can search it at www.familysearch.org. However, death certificates do not list names of parents.

Have a look at Introduction to Irish Records (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,442233.0.html) and My Ancestor came from Ireland - where do I start? (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,498742.0.html).

The information I have found on this tree is as follows, hope it helps.

Charles McCurley(b1806) was married to Bridget McNulty(B 1808)
They had 4 children Margaret, Hugh, Charles and William(my direct relation)
Charles married Sarah O'Kane
William Married Ellen Mann(Glenravel Roman Catholic Church, Co. Antrim, Ireland)
As far as I can see Charles only had a son Hugh
William had 8 Children: Mary, William, Charles, Hugh, Patrick, John, James & Margaret

I can't find anything further back than Charles and Bridget.

William's Daughter Margaret who was the youngest is Niel's Cousin I think, and my Grandmother.

Where are you from UK or did some relations move abroad?
