Title: Old Court. Skibbereen
Post by: RTB on Tuesday 04 December 12 18:22 GMT (UK)
Old Court, Skibbereen.  August 1939. Jerome Ltd

I have had this photo for a number of years. Paid 10p for it at a local car boot, I just like the photo, it would have probably ended up in the skip if not.   While on holiday in Ireland  I did try to find the house on a visit to the area, with out too much success.

Well the question is, does any recognise the face or the name?  More than happy to forward a high quality scan of the image to those interested parties.

The message on the back of the photo as follows,

'To Dear Dais
Wishing her Many Happy Returns of Sept 27th 1939.  With Love from Alf & Edith'.

The only Old Court  i know is the pub by the same name.  i think  it is the area which is known as Old
Court as my daughter and husband transfered to Skibbereen with his work and they live in the area called Bunlick which covers a big area. I have drunk there on holiday. it is their local.

Sorry  i  cant help  further but they have the builders in so have just moved to Baltimore while the work is going on.  When things have sorted themselves out ie phone/pc i may find something out to help you.
Maybe someone will be able to help you before i can.

Best wishes
Michael    ;)

Oldcourt is a townland on the road to Baltimore outside Skibereen. There is also an Oldcourt House.
