Hello Steve, thank you very much :)

Hi, I've got the OxFHS PR transcripts on CD - there are quite a lot of baptisms and burials, as well as marriages, and I'm a very slow typist ::)
Bear with me, I'll be back later with the full list :)

Hmmmm, there really are a lot :o
Could you narrow it down a little? Date range, first names?

Hello Carol,
sorry I didn't realise there would be quite so many. When do the transcripts begin & end on the CD??
James

Hi James :)
They go from 1565 to 1994 :o
So far I've written down the details of 23 baptisms between 1645 and 1844 - only 150 years to go! The first marriage was in 1644; the first burial was in 1779. Is there a particular family you're interested in?

My family had the surname LYNE & I know they lived in the Parish of St Mary Magdalen in the centre of Oxford in the first half of the 1800's, probably before that too, but I don't know how long before 1800. My 4 x great grandfather Richard Lyne appears to have died in 1837 as there is an entrance in the GRO Index for this, is there a parish burial record for him?? Not sure if he was baptised there or if there are any possible baptisms for him. I think that some of the other Lyne families living in the parish around that time were related to my family too. :D
Regards,
James.

Hi all,
I never did receive a reply as to whether there is a burial record for Richard Lyne in 1837 in parish records of St Mary Magdalen in Oxford City. Can anyone help with this query please?
Also, if anyone has the time and can help to give me any other occurrences of the Lyne surname between 1750-1850 in the baptism, marriage, death registers in the same parish it would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks.
Kind regards,
James.

Thank you NDRFT, Richard Lyne was my 4th great grandfather. :-)
I'm trying to gather as much information as possible about the Lyne's from Oxford City from the early 1800s and before that.
Thanks again for your help.
Kind regards,
James.
