Hello :)
Can anyone help me find Martha Jackson in the 1891 census? Martha was born in 1854 in Sheffield. She married Aaron Metcalfe from Gringley on the hill, Nottinghamshire in 1892. He was living in Campsall, Yorkshire in 1891 but I can not find Martha anywhere.
Thank-you

Hiya Nellie....can I ask if you have their marriage certificate ??
born 1854 and married 1892 = aged 37/38 at the marriage ....could Jackson have been her married name from a previous marriage - or do you definitely know that Jackson was her birth name ?
I willsee if I can find her on familysearch ...

Hello Allan,
Thank-you for your help.
I don't think Martha had been married to anyone before she married Aaron. Unless she married another Jackson? In the 1911 census she said she had only had one child named Florence.

Hi Allan,
I have Martha's birth certificate. Her father was Cesar Jackson.
Thanks

I'm sorry I don't think I can help you.
I'm a little rusty as I haven't been on Rootschat for some time but I do have information on a Martha Jackson born about 1837 in Belton Lincolnshire, daughter of Ann (nee Richardson) and William Jackson. She moved around Lincolnshire mainly but lived in Yorkshire at times. She had a colourful life. If you think this might be of interest please let me know.
Cheers

Where is Martha in 1881?
I can't find any evidence of a Cesar Jackson ever existing ???
He doesn't appear on any census or BMD?

There's a 7 yr old Martha Jackson, daughter of Caesar Jackson, in Sheffield in 1861: RG9/3489/105/7.
She seems to be in service in 1871 and 1881.

Ah so he is,and he died in Dec 1862 as Caesar Jackson.
Martha is very elusive in1891 though, isn't she?
