Title: Help reading Irish name

Hi,
I've recently begun to look into my maternal family history and during a recent visit to my mums had a look through an old and battered photo album of carte de viste photo's. I've studied the photo's to see if any of the information will help me work back through the family history - I know that my Gran's family hail from Dublin, while my grandad's family come from Antrim, only moving to Dublin in the very early 1900's. I don't know which side of the family the album relates to. One of the photo's has a piece of paper stuck on the back with a name in what appears to be Irish. I have searched the internet to see if I can decipher the name but have failed. I'm hoping that by attaching a scan of the name here someone will be able to advise what it actually says and what the name would be in English.
Any help - or even clues - would be much appreciated!

I might be far wide of the mark but I immediately thought Michael o'Connors. 
Nothing to compare it to so just a thought.

I think this translates to Michael Cooney :)

Hello -

I think the anglicised version of this name would be Michael O'Curry/O'Curragh.

Thank you for your suggestions - I'm particularly interested in the idea that it might be O'Curry. This had crossed my mind as there does seem to be a family link to Curry - although I haven't confirmed that and was wary about making assumptions!! If the link is proven and the name is O'Curry then the photo could be of my 2 x G Grandfather!! If I prove the link i might need to post on the photography board for date suggestions. Need to prove the link to Curry first though.

I'd agree with craggagh ..
the surname transliterates to
Miceál O Curaigh

which sounds like Meekawl O Curry , roughly

I agree with craggagh & Eadaoin. The Ó wouldn't necessarily translate, so, probably Michael Curry in English.

Thanks again to everybody who has replied - I think I'll go with the consensus that is Curry (or var). Now just to prove the link.... :)
