My great great grandmother was Susan Naan born in 1871 in altnaponer to Pat Naan and Mary/Ann McKenna.
She married Patrick Noble from corrylongford and they had 5 girls. They moved to ballygawley co Tyrone and are all buried there.
Anyone with connection to the Naan family, i would love to hear from you.
Susans siblings were:

Patrick married Susan Naan and they are my gg grandparents.
The father Mark converted to RC before he died.
i have no more information apart from a few possible marriages for Patricks brothers, which also included an elder brother Edward, living away from home in 1901.
Mark Noble (Patricks father) was the son of Christopher Noble, but i am unable to locate him in Griffiths valuation.

A couple of marriages to bear in mind.
Jan 1875 Mark Noble married Ellen Flanagan in Lisnaskea Civil registrars Office.
Nov 1846 Christopher Noble married Jane Henderson in Rossorry Church of Ireland, Enniskillen District.

thanks for reply. i am already aware of these marriages. i have mark and ellens marriage certificate, this is where i got christophers name.
and i knew christopher married jane henderson, but not much else

using rootsireland i found the 1846 marriage cert of christopher noble. i didnt purchase it but by the power of elimination i found out his fathers name was mark, which fits considering the tradition of naming children after parents.
there are two christopher nobles in griffiths valuation, wither of which may or may not be mine.
have used above technique to surmise her fathers name was john. I since purchased the marriage cert and she was a widow, her birth name was Crozier.

christopher nobles father Mark was a resident of the parish of Drumkeeran, as borne out by the certificate of his marriage. his father mark is listed there in the tithes of 1832

my great great grandparents patrick noble and susan naan were living in carnmore in 1911 with their 3 children and some in-laws.
Patrick and Susan had 5 daughters that I know of, 3 of them born by 1911. But in the 1911 census there is a discrepancy. Patrick says he has 3 children born and 3 living, while Susan says 6 born 3 living.
I have just noticed this, and am hoping someone can help clear this up for me.

It could just be that they didn't fill out the census form correctly. You can see on the original some details have been crossed out-

i had thought of that, but they married in 1901 when Mary Ann was 4, and their next daughter was born in 1904, a gap of 7 years. Seems too long when you consider how quickly children were born then...

Don't forget the high infant mortality rate and possiblity of stillbirths and miscarriages.

looking for the marriage details of patrick naan to ann mckenna. would be sometime in the late 1850s i presume, maybe early 1860s.
lived in altnaponer in 1901.

Possibly the above Patrick Naan- "Naan senior Patrick of Altnaponer Brookeborough county Fermanagh farmer died 14 February 1934 Probate Londonderry 25 June to Bernard Naan farmer. Effects £37 10s." see www.proni.gov.uk
