I have a photo of the 1948 Kensington Gardens Football team (Aussie Rules). It’s a clear photo in reasonably good condition complete with all the names. I think it’s very likely that there are some descendants out there who may like to have a scan of it before I see if there’s an archive that would like to have the actual photograph.
In case there are, I’ve researched births and deaths for the names of those in it to the best of my ability. I couldn’t find a few births, and for some I couldn’t find births and/or deaths, so obviously I can’t post those names on here. I’m hoping that by posting those I think I’ve identified, someone will see them when googling, and then reply via RootsChat.

hi deeiluka,
we are just doing some family research on ernest james bell and seen you had some post if you had any information can you please message hannah grace or call 0355951164,

Hello Hannah Grace, and welcome to RootsChat.
I should explain that I did a little research on Ernest James Bell in conjunction with another thread on the World War 2 Board of RootsChat. If you click on the following link you'll be able to read it.
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,627207.30.html
In an effort to find more information, I also ran the following thread.....(again, just click on the link)
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,627623.0.html
Apart from the information posted on these threads, I'm afraid I have no more apart from a couple of marriages. I've noted your phone number, as it will most likely be removed by a moderator as we aren't permitted to post personal information such as email address, phone numbers etc on the boards. We can post them using the Personal Message system. To use it you must post at least once more on one of the threads in which you are interested.
Hope that is of some help,
Dee :)

Hi Dee,
I realise this thread is a couple of years old but you made mention of my Grandfather G A Lovell appearing in your photograph. I am thinking of him this ANZAC Day and I would love to get a copy of the photo to share with my family!
Thankyou
Patrick

Welcome to RootsChat, Patrick. :)
It's good to have another response to the thread.
As we can't put email addresses on the threads, you need to reply to this message, and then hopefully we'll be able to contact each other through the Personal Message system of RootsChat, where we can make arrangements about me sending you a digital copy of the photograph.
Dee :)

Hello Dee, George Strachen Kelman is my Poppa. I would love a copy if you are still able to offer please. I am doing some family history research and came across this forum. Thank you kindly. Jessica
-
Hello Jessica, and welcome to RootsChat.
You are welcome to a scan of the photograph, and for me to send it to you, you will need to post a couple more messages on RootsChat, either on this thread or another thread. Then we will be able to exchange Personal Messages, and you'll be able to let me have your email address. Just do not post it in a reply on the thread, as that is not allowed for security reasons.
One other small problem at the moment is that the photo scan is on my laptop, which is giving trouble at present. However, as soon as it is sorted, I will be pleased to send the scan.
Dee :)

Thank you for your reply Dee, I appreciate you taking the time and so fast too :) I'll reply to your reply of this message and then hopefully I can send you my email. I'm looking forward to seeing the photo! I only have one photo of Poppa so far :)
-
I have sent you a personal message, Jessica. :)
Dee

Thank you Dee :)

You are welcome, Jessica.
Glad I could help and that another copy of the photo has found a good home.

Hi Dee, I've stumbled across this forum doing a bit of family research as i dont know much about my family.George Kelman was my poppa too!. so i could of found two relatives here on this post lol!.
id love a copy of the photo to show my dad it would be amazing.
James.

Hi James,
Sorry I've taken a few days to reply. For some reason I didn't get a notification about your post, so I hope you get one about mine. We can't exchange emails addresses on here , only by personal message. To be able to use that, you must post on this thread or another a couple more times.
But I can now direct you to an easier way to see the photos of the Kensington Gardens Football Club, as last year I donated them to the South Australian State Library.
https://collections.slsa.sa.gov.au/resource/B+77747
If this link doesn't work then just google South Australian State Library Catalogue and you should be able to find them. If not, let me know.
Dee :)
