I have just found that i have one member of my family was for ireland William mc lenaghan
-
McLenaghan is quite a common name in Ireland, especially in Ulster. You'll need to give us more details before we can even begin to suggest where you can search for more information.
Is there a reason you've posted on Antrim board?
-
yes it is aantrim William mc lenaghan came from we think
-
There will be quite a few William McLenaghans in County Antrim so you need to give us as much detail as possible, starting with dates.
-
he was in the navy and went to scotland was 46 years old when he died and was married to helen wilson
-
You obviously have some details about William but still aren't telling us enough to help you.
When was William born?
When and where did he get married?
When and where did he die?
Have you found him in any census records?

If he married in Glasgow in 1909 he can't have been born 1900 :-\
Or did you mean to say he married in 1939?
Where does Wales come into this? the latest available U.K. census is 1911.
-
yes sorry. i have Old Photograph of him it was taken in milford haven

I can't tell you much-but my great Aunt Mary Anne Davidson married James McClenaghan on 15th May 1903 at St James in Ballymoney. James came from Ballynagashel and lived in Ballytaggart(a lovely man) In my notes I have the following comment(william Mcclenaghan was the older brother of James and died in port glasgow-his wife was named Nellie and they had a son William)
I have also noted that James had an uncle Hugh McCollom who lived and died at Drumdollagh and an Aunt Nancy Mccollom.
James mcClenaghan and Mary ann had the following children -not necessarily in order
Mary-Married Tom Clyde
Jeannie who married Jim Clyde
Emily who Married Alex Taggart
Jim who married * Clyde
Ellen-unmarried
Tom -Jim and * Clyde are brothers and sister
Jim died about 6 years ago and * is now aged 95 and still living in the original home of James at Ballytaggart.
