Do you have any idea which part of 'Dublin' ?
it can refer to the city, suburbs or county, and there are quite a few parishes involved... 1798 is before the start of the available records for many areas.
see : Introduction to Irish Records (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,442233.0.html)
My Ancestor came from Ireland - where do I start? (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,498742.0.html)
Many RC and Church of Ireland parish records for the city area are included on www.irishgenealogy.ie (free). St. Anne's was a Church of Ireland parish, and some of it's records are included - but no marriages that I can see for the 1820s..

More details on the family in your previous topics-
grave in llangwyllog (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,618800) (Anglesey)
william bell rogerson born 1797 to 1798 (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,619067) (Beginners)

there are various public tree online - but they give varying details. All are consistent with year and place of death for William, but vary in his parents names - one has William Bell Rogerson and Mary Ann McGill, another John Rogerson and Mary Anne Bell. Unfortunately none of these trees include any source, other than an index reference to a death of William in 1877 in Anglesey.
Do you have names and years of birth for the children born in Dublin as mentioned in your other in your Anglesey thread in reply #7 (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,618800.msg4679754.html#msg4679754) ?
Finding baptisms for these could help give a starting parish to follow up in Dublin..

found one of the baptisms... in the Church of Ireland parish of Clontarf, which was a suburb, north of the City.
Baptism of William Thomas Rogerson - 24 February 1842 (http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/29128a0005617)
Address : Elm Mount, Donnycarney
Parents : William Bell Rogerson and Anne Jane

also a baptism for James...
Baptism of James Dalrymple Rogerson - 8 August 1844 (http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/29128a0005617)
same address and parents as William.

what is ESQR mean for his job do you think the address will be there still
-
Esq. stands for Esquire - usually well-off people whose income came from rental of property etc.
I think Elm Mount was the name of a house or estate - will check....
Shane
-
Elm Mount was a house close to Donnycarney village. It's shown on the 1st Edition OSI maps dated c1837, and later around 1900, but no longer exists. There's a housing estate at the location today...

William is mentioned in Slater's directory of 1846...must be just before they moved over to Liverpool..
William B. Rogerson,

cannot get it up on my lapton what is it slater's
thanks
-
Pettigrew & Oulton directory of 1840 shows him at 7 Shaw St. in the city centre as an agent.
see : page 60 (http://roots.swilson.info/po1840c/po1840c.php?pageno=60) (left hand side of the image, about half-way up)
and he's listed in the 1834 edition at 18 Dame St. as a 'Hosier & Glover to his majesty & the Lord Lieutenant'
see : page 21 (http://roots.swilson.info/po1834/po1834.php?pageno=21) (bottom right of the image)
His occupation in the 1834 listing could tie in with the occupation listed for that William Rogerson on the 1851 census in London - i.e. 'Elastic Fabric Merchant'

Slater's is a directory which covers cities and many towns - several editions available : 1846, 1870, 1881 and 1894. Less common is the 1856 edition.
Extracts from some of these are available online and further details on Subscription websites.
Much of the 1846 edition is available on a free website at : http://www.failteromhat.com/slater.htm
The Rogerson entry is on this page in the 3rd column - http://www.failteromhat.com/slater/0293.pdf

Hi Trying to match up John Rogerson DB and also Mary Anne Rogerson DB I've found them in1804 with there son, Thomas Wormald Rogerson (Baptism) 1804 at St Werburgh Church Dublin.
I think that John Rogerson was born in 1774 in Dublin but could be wrong.
Thanks Anneelaine

Hi anyone know any think about this guy
Area - DUBLIN (COI) , Parish/Church/Congregation - ST. JOHN
Baptism of WILLIAM ROGERSON of N/R on 9 January 1668 father was a Richard Rogerson
still trying to join the dots
He married a Jane Rogerson in 1699 31 Aug.
Also anyone know how i could find out about who is in the grave with William Rogerson son of Richard Rogerson
son of sir John Rogerson
i would think the baby would be in with him
the grave yard is at St. Werburgh's Church, Dublin what a lovely church i did go and take a look but could not see any names there with it been so old
Were all the Rogerson went through the years even my Gt grandad with his family and his father in the 1700's i think I am getting there but it's taking a long time.
I am not to sure if Sir John Rogerson is in the graveyard there or it was his son :-\

Hey, found out a little more, Sir John Rogerson, son William, who passed away young in 1821
William Rogerson's child was born around 1821 and passed away around 1823
Elizabeth Rogerson was born in 1815, a child of Alice & William
Elizabeth was taken away with her mother, Alice Molyneux, we believe.
When she remarried. into the Matthews family,
I have a DNA Gedmatch with Elizabeth with a member of her family, down the line
And we are now friends.
And Thomas Rogerson, my link to a grandfather, a long time ago, a child of William & Alice
Looks like he was brought up by Sir
Sir John's Rogerson girls.
Thomas and Elizabeth are mentioned in Sir John's will as grandchildren. Maybe I am getting to the end now, still got to join the dots . Thanks Anneelaine ..
