Title: Trying to confirm the regiment
Post by: kaztomo on Sunday 25 November 12 18:32 GMT (UK)
Hi all (hope this is the right place for my post),

I have come across an old photo given to me years back - I think it includes my Gt Grandfather but wondered if anyone might recognise the uniform.
I am reliably informed that he was in the Scots Guards, could this be the Scots Guards uniform in the photo?
I've tried to get a close up of the insignia on the caps but unfortunately too close makes it a blur.

Can anyone help???

Thanks.

Not the Scots Guards  Kaz, but The Lancashire Fusiliers going by the cap badge, can you give us a name at all?

OR.

Well now that's thrown the proverbial spanner in the works. Not sure who in the family was in the Lancs Fusiliers.
My Gt Grandfather Gale Heslop was definately in the Scots - I have a copy of his medal records confirming that along with memories of my Gt Gran telling me how he took her on their first date dressed in his Scots Guards uniform (ahhh...  :) ).

Totally at a loss now - I know he had brothers so maybe one of those is in this picture.
