Would be pleased to compare notes with anyone researching the above.

Interested in wife`s POCKLINGTON ancestors. Her Gt. Gt. grandfather (William) + Gt. grandfather (John) were born in Louth - (1811 and 1845 respectively). If these names "fit" into your family tree, would love to hear from you.

Hi Paul,
Have you got the names of their spouses?
It's a fair bet that they fit in somewhere.

Hi,
Slight mistake. Wife`s Gt. Gt. grandfather was Christopher POCKLINGTON (William`s brother). He was baptised in Horncastle in 1814. He married Mary BEMROSE - Louth St. James, 1845.
Wife`s Gt. grandfather, John Inman POCKLINGTON, married Harriet BRAY - 1870, Glentham.

Hi Paul.
John Inman Pocklington is my 2nd cousin 5x removed.
I have that line going back to 1489.
My Great gran was Alice Rebecca Pocklington.

Hi,
I have seen several POCKLINGTON pedigrees on the net. Using them, + my own research, I am currently checking Primary sources (mainly Parish records). I haven`t come across an Alice Rebecca though.
Would be interested to know how you have got back as far as the 15th century.
Have, myself, used the IGI to go back a long way, but have found some inconsistencies and presumptions.
Paul.

If you pm me your email address I will send you an invite.
Pocklingtons the bakers have their full tree on the web. I was also given a copy at a family history fair.
The Bakers, car dealers, millers are all related. Sadly not all Pocklingtons were rich. Some died in the workhouse too!
There's quite a few common names do you have to be careful.
I have another Pocklington family on my tree who are unconnected. Their roots appear to be in Yorkshire.
