HELP! HELP!
I am having problem with James HARRISS my Great Grandfather (Census 1901) b: 1869 Sandburgh road, Holloway.
I have been in communication with Islington Local History Centre:
"Thank you for your enquiry regarding a street name in Holloway.
I am unable to find a Sandburgh Road in London in 1869. None is listed in the 1868 Metropolitan Board of Works index of streets, nor in the 1900 London County Council index. Looking at Islington in particular the 1871 census, and 1870 rate books do not list such a street.
May I ask, are you trying to decipher some cursive script? If it is a poor transcription might it possibly read Sonderburg Road? Sonderburg Road is in Holloway and first appears in trade directories in 1870, so we can assume was built sometime shortly before then.
Sorry not to be able to provide a more compelling answer"
The 1911 census states that BMH was married/living with EG for 2 years.
the last child born to BMH and JH was Bengamin Harriss b:1907 Clerkenwell.
(BMH) Beatrice Matilda Mitchell (I have the birth cert). Vol 1a Page 560 (1873)

George Neal (Son) Birth (I have the birth cert) Vol 1b Page 296 (March 27 1892)
George Neal (26) (Father) Death Vol 1c Page 27 (Apr- June 1893)

Hi and welcome :)
Just so that we understand, it seems you're trying to trace the several marriages/relationships of Beatrice Matilda nee Mitchell (birth reg Dec qtr 1873 Marylebone) and in particular the James Harriss (born abt 1869 Holloway) with whom she appears in 1901 - is that right?
I see that in 1901 there are four offspring in the household - George Neal (whom you have mentioned) and three Harriss children: Florence (6), Ada (4) and Marie (or Maria) (1). Are these all children of James and Beatrice together?
For those who are looking the 1901 reference is RG13/251/117/20.
For what it's worth I would think there's a good chance "Sandburgh" Road is intended to be "Sonderburg" as the ILHC have suggested.

If George Neal died in 1893 it looks as though Beatrice was pregnant at the time:
Baptism, St Silas Pentonville
11 March 1894
Beatrice Matilda Violet Neal, born 23 Feb 1894, daughter of George (house decorator) and Beatrice, of 90 Wynford Rd.
Death, Sep qtr 1894
Beatrice Matilda V Neal aged 0
Islington 1b 158

Have you considered James Parrott Harriss (birth reg Jun qtr 1870 Islington) who in 1891 as James P Harriss, 20, carman, b Islington, was with parents James T and Annie E in Clerkenwell - in the parish of St Silas Pentonville which was where Beatrice had baptised two Neal children and where James and Beatrice were in 1901?
His 1891 occupation of carman also fits with the James Harriss, removal carman, in 1901.
1891 ref: RG12/226/102/7.
1881 ref: RG11/236/17/28. (Harris)
1871 ref: RG10/257/59/46. (Harris)
The family is unfortunately not in Holloway in the censuses but the Hornsey Rise birthplaces shown in 1881 for children Ann (6) and John (4) suggest they were up that way for a while at least.
