Title: Trying to contact a RootsChat member who hasn't logged on since September 2012
Post by: Simon-1 on Monday 19 November 12 22:55 GMT (UK)
Hello. I have joined RootsChat this evening, as a Google search located reference to a post on RootsChat relating to an individual I am researching. I have replied to this post and have asked the member to get back to me, but have noticed that they have not logged onto RootsChat since September 2012, so might not realise that my reply is there. Is there any way of me sending a private message to this member, as I couldn't find an obvious way of doing it. If so, will the member in question receive an email notification informing them that they have received a message on RootsChat? Many thanks.

Simon

they should receive a notification (if they have that function switched on) Other than that once you have made 3 posts you can private message them.

Welcome to RootsChat

Welcome to Rootschat. You usually need to have three posts so if you post again here that should set the wheels in motion. Once you send a PM they will hopefully get notification- unless they have selected not to get notified or changed their email address without changing it here.

Thanks for replying to my message so quickly. After posting this, I'll try to PM the member in question.
