Hello.
Can someone please help me.
I am looking for the birth record of Isaac WARD born in Pickering about 1823.He married Frances [Fanny] Hunter in about 1845 and one of his sons, Isaac, born in Scarborough about 1868, came and settled here in Christchurch New Zealand.
Thank you.
Fran :) :)

I haven't got access to parish registers, so can't help with the brth in 1823 before civil registration.
Here is the marriage -
April/may/Jun 1845
Scarborough reg district ref 24 589
Isaac Ward - one of brides on same page is Fanny Hunter
Re the birth in about 1848, I can't see an IsaacWard in that year in Scarborough reg district. There is one in 1843 - could that be him?

Hi..Thank you for the very prompt reply.Your information confirms what I had 'guessed'. I had found a number of siblings for Isaac junior in the census records of 1851 to1871.
I would love to hear from anyone who has access to the Pickering Parish records and would be happy to look for Isaac's birth for me.
It is so exciting waiting for replies.
Thanks again

Have you checked family search.org?
(I haven't looked)

I have had a look at the Bishop's Transcripts for Pickering. There are a few Ward families having children in the period that I looked from 1813 to 1831 but I did not find a baptism for Isaac Ward in them. That does not mean its not there. It may have been missed or he could have been baptized in another church in the area. These records are for the Church of England. Sorry I could not help you further but there are about 5 different Ward families having children in that time frame.
Good luck

Hi..Thank you both for work. After I posted my reply last night I found a website that linked to Familysearch. It had the batch numbers for yorkshire parishes. Checked Pickering, but like you, bcrick, I found nothing, so it is good to have the parish records and the BT's sorted!
I think I will look at all the 'filmed' parishes around Pickering to see if he was baptised nearby.
Thank you once again..your help is much appreciated
