I have the records for Richard Justin, born Dublin 06.12.1868. He married in Dublin 1892.
I think that the clue is that the daughter of Richard & Mary Ann, of Prescot, was born in County Laois.
There were many Justin families in County Laois.
Mary Ann & Richard had 2 more children, in Widnes.
-
Do you have the marriage certificate for Richard ,then at least you will know his fathers name,
-
I had hoped to find the County that Richard was born in, so I could request a certificate from GRO. Ireland.
Your suggestion is now my best option
-
You said he married in Prescot ,and he is from Queens County
in 1901 census of Ireland I do not see that many Justins,
Henry a shopkeeper aged 50,and family
House 4 Clonbulloge
Richard aged 87
he has a son Thomas and grandchildren including a 16 year old Richard
Clonnany,
George a farmer aged 76
no children or wife, nephew and neice Thompson

I have colated nearly all the Justin family information, from Queens County and Dublin. My line is from Clonnany, their church was Lea, near Portarlington.

Just looking through my notes. I have Sarah Justin marrying a Charles Waring in England. You mention that in 1901 Richard Justin is a boarder with the Waring's.
Would be good to find the marriage details for Sarah and Charles. I think Sarah's father was called William.
-
This is the reference for Richard Justin's marriage in 1905
Prescot Dec Quarter 1905
Volume 8b page 1143
In 1901 when he is with the Warings they are in Widnes which was in the Prescot Registration district.
I found it on www.freebmd.org.uk

-
Sorry I thought I had finished, but not the case.
I am now looking for the 1901 census records for John Thomas Barrow, born in the Wigan region in 1899.
If this is the right person, he then marries Elsie Justin in December 1936, in the region of Prescot.
-
Potential baptism on Familysearch
John Thomas Barrow bp 23 July 1899 at Abram. Parents John Henry & Elizabeth Anne Barrow. Abode Bickershaw
-
Thank you. Would be interested in the census records.
Elsie Justin was born 1909 and John Thomas 1899
Marriage 1936.
Seems John Thomas may have been quite old for a first marriage.
I know the only real answer is a marriage certificate.

Hi Lance,
I'm Sarah Wareing's Great Great Grandson. Just stumbled across this thread. I am under the belief now after great investigation and help from another researcher that Sarah and Richard were probably brother and sister. Sarah referred to herself as "Juston", Richard as "Justin". The belief is that they are the "Jestin" family from Mountmellick, Laois, Ireland. Their parents would be William Jestin and Dorinda Broomfield. Hope this helps. Both Richard, and Sarah are in unmarked graves in Widnes cemetery.

Many thanks for your information. I continue to research the Justin & Jestin lines and have followed most of the branches of the families in Ireland & Canada as well as the U.K.
-
Please note the family name is correct, i.e. Justin, not Jestin or other variants,
-
Widnes Cemetery records have death of Richard Justin, a labourer of 13 Grove St., Widnes, for 22/2/1922, age 44 years.
in the sames grave Charles Justin d. 20/6/22, same address, aged 2 years.
Also in the same plot, William Joseph Justin d. 29/11/1909, aged 2 years, but address is 12 Grove St., Widnes.

Thank you, have found the birth of Charles Justin in December 1919 in the region of Prescot, Lancashire. Mother shown as Oliver.
