Can anyone help please with a look up for
Prosperous Guy bc1770 South Weald, Essex ?
I have Prosperous Guy in 1841 census age 70 residing with wife Sarah and son Joseph age 30.
I am looking for any record of his baptism, and/or marriage to wife Sarah, maiden name unknown.

13th December 1823, Prosperous GUY, aged 96
18th March 1855, Prosperous GUY, aged 91

If he was on 1841 census, then it must be the 1855 death!
He is on 1851 too

Thank you, I have him in 1851 census and also his death in 1855.
Unfortunately, I am now at a dead end without any trace of his baptism, parents or siblings...

Hi, I descend from Prosperous Guy's Sister Jane GUY. She married William Crosby HOW and they came to South Australia. Happy to swap notes and build our GUY family history. Maz

Hi, I also descend from Jane Guy and have traced the family back to Jane's grandfather, Prosperous. I would also love to compare notes. Other than a couple of census results I have found tracing the family's births and marriages tricky. Jane had a brother called Prosperous who was born around 1835 and died 1842. Her grandfather Prosperous was living with her family in the 1851 census and I think he died in 1855 age 91.

I'm a new chatter, but researching for many years. There were 3 males in consecutive generations named Prosperous Guy, and the last died aged 7 - son of Thomas and Mary Anne Benton. He had siblings Sarah, William, Jane, Ellen (died at 14 mths), James and Anthony. I'm descended from James who went to Te Muka in New Zealand and I've recently learnt that Jane went to South Australia. Also that a Joseph (their uncle?) went to Christchurch NZ. Really keen to help to put our tree together as much as possible.

Hi Shirley, I am a descendant of Jane Guy and am living in Western Australia. I hadn't looked into her siblings much yet so I had no idea she had a brother that went to NZ. If you need any information on Jane's part of the family I am happy to help as I have researched them extensively.

I was very pleased to receive your message. It never occurred to me that someone else had been going down the same road as me as have never met anyone researching GUY.
I viewed the South Weald BDM records about 20 years ago and saw the flow of family life. I also live in WA, in Perth. i would prefer to contact by email. Is that ok with you?
