Hi
Can someone have a look at the image on FindMyPast please for HO107, Piece 2225, Folio 8, Page 9. It is for a Charles Hall, age 21, born 1830, Manchester, living Cornwall Street with Hannah Walley. I can only access the index. By deduction (as he is not transcribed on Ancestry) I have seen the image on Ancestry but it is very poor and can only make out Hannah and with imagination Charles. I know sometimes from past experience some images are better on another site.
I am hoping the names of the other members can be seen, I think 3 daughters.
Many thanks Evie

Dear Evie
Sorry I have had a look at this and the image is very poor - very dark and the bottom of the paper is torn away - you can see that there are 3 daughters Martha aged 16 and then on aged 13 both born Macclesfield and the 3rd daughter born Manchester.
Sorry I can't be more helpful - do you need them on any other censuses?
best wishes

Hi Maria :)
Thank you so much that is very helpful as I couldn't see Martha and she was one of the girls I was hoping for. Very useful to have the places of birth too. I did try to reply earlier but the message timed out and was lost. Have to pop out now but will get back to you. I now have Charles I think in 1861 but haven't yet looked for the girls.
I have the family in 1841, mother remarried in 1849 to Joseph Walley.

Hello Evie :)
You give Charles Hall born c 1830 Manchester
from garsonite's post I wonder if this is his parents marriage
26 Dec 1824 Manchester Lancashire John Hall to Hannah Smith
you can see that there are 3 daughters
Martha aged 16 and then on aged 13 both born Macclesfield
and the 3rd daughter born Manchester.
I have found these baptisms on Cheshire OPC I wonder if it is them
16/11/1834 St Michael Macclesfield
Martha Hall parents John Hall cordwainer & Hannah residence Macclesfield
05/08/1837 St Michael
Harriet Hall parents John Hall cordwainer & Hannah " "
27 May 1832 St Michael’s
Elizabeth Hall parents John Hall Shoemaker & Hannah " "

Brilliant thanks everyone :)
John was definitely a shoemaker, lots of info here. Children's baptisms, Hannah's maiden name and marriage.
Heather also found a baptism for son Thomas - see this post

So we just need Charles and the youngest daughter now - unknown name or age.
I wonder what happened to Elizabeth as she wasn't on the 1841 census with parents.
Thanks again all

Dear Evie
Have just had another look at the 1851 census & the transcript has the final daughter as ? ? unmarried aged 23 and born 1828 - don't think this is correct though - looks like they have picked up another number circled on top as her age.
Best wishes
Maria :)

Yes I see what you mean, I think it is some sort of count when the census was checked.
