Hi all
Can anyone find the parents in this family in 1851.
family in 1861
Framwellgate (Rural) 1861 Census, Framwellgate Moor Village, Smokey Row
William Chaytor [Chater], Head, married, 26, Coal Miner, born Seghill, Northumberland
Mary A. Chaytor [Chater], Wife, married, 26, born Broomside, Durham
William Chaytor [Chater], son, 5, born St.Helen Auckland, Durham
Violet A. Chaytor [Chater], daughter, 2, born Usworth, Durham
Isabella Chaytor [Chater], daughter, 1, born Old Shincliffe, Durham.
Father william must have been born around 1835, if anyone could find his birth record I would be very grateful. Also the mother, she would have been Mary Ann Briggs, born around the same time.
I have ther marriage cert, which states William Chaters age 21 father william Chaters a Blacksmith, who married Mary Ann Briggs, a spinster age 22, father John Briggs, a miner.
Marriage took place Sep 1857 in Monkwearmouth, Durham.
Please help if you can
Best wishes

Is there an address for either/both on their marriage certificate? Monkwearmouth is just too big to trawl through without an address
sorry.

Hi
I have managed to get a bit further back on this line;
William Chaters born Cramlington, bapt Cramlington 20 Oct 1833, parents William and Violet Chater. Cramlington St. Nicholas which is the most likely place for William's christening. I still need to find the actual record, but going by other information i have this is who I am looking for.
I now have found the marriage of parents and have a copy of parish record
marriage of William Chayter and Violet Addison in St Peter’s at Wallsend 25 May 1828. William died in 1841 and Violet remarried;
Violet Addison – Johnathan Nichol 1843 newcastle father Robert Addison. have church record
So now I am looking for Robert Addison, he staes he was a mariner in 1843 on Violets second marriage cert in 1841. I have been unable to find any record of him other than on this cert, any ideas would be welcome.
I am still trying to find William Chater (father) who may have been born Tynemouth, there are a lot of Chaters in that area at this time, 1800s. All other children were born in Tynemouth area.
Also the following:
1841 SEGHILL William age 7 Father died in 1841 before the census date.
1841 HE WAS A BLACKSMITH
Violet Chater 35 Pauper
John " 12 b1829 have parish record
William " 7 b1834 Cramlington need record
James " 5 b1836 have parish record
Mary " 10 months b1840 have birth cert, 1840 Tynemouth, Earsden, Northumberland
1851 CENSUS SEGHILL Violet remarried living with Nichol and family 3 new children. Husband is not at home on census day!
New Square
Violet Nichol, head, married, 46, cordwainers wife, Northumberland Hawxley
William Chator, son, unm, 17, coal miner, Northumberland Cramlington
James Chator, son, unm, 14, coal miner, Northumberland Tynemouth
Mary Chator, 10, Northumberland Seghill
Violet N. Nichol, daur, 7, Northumberland Seghill
Grace A. Nichol, daur, 5, Northumberland Seghill
Christiana Nichol, daur, 2, Norhtumberland Seghill
If anyone can help further please let me know, and I must thank everyone for all the help I have had tracing this far back, without lots of help I would never have managed, thanks again.
