Title: O'Rourkes in Liverpool
Post by: Owie on Monday 05 July 04 11:44 BST (UK)
I have been researching the following surnames for some time.  I have quite a bit of information on the O'Rourke side of my family, but not so much on the other strands.  Is anyone else researching these names?

O'Rourke; Nolan; Jenkins; Hannett; Conboy.

Thanks

Hello Owie,

Perhaps you can add some years and rough areas to help people if they would like to respond.

All of these family groups centre around Toxteth Park.  The main dates I am researching are from about 1860-1910.

Hello Owie

I found this O'ROURKE family in Toxteth Park on the 1871 census:-

John O'ROURKE  (Head) Blacksmith 23 born Ireland
Elizabeth  "        (wife)  22  born Ireland
Isaac        "         (son)  4 born Liverpool, Lancs
Margaret  "         (daughter) 2 born Ireland
John         "         (son) 7 months born Liverpool, Lancs

Address looks like 88 Stanhope Street, Toxteth Park, parish of St. Matthew's.

Also in Toxteth Park -

Brian O'ROURKE (Boarder)  20 unmarried; clogmaker born in  Dublin, Ireland

Address is 141 Wolfe Street, Toxteth Park, parish of St. Matthew's

Hope this is of some help

Dorothy

Thanks Dorothy. I'm not sure if they are part of my clan but will add to the growing pile of info!

Cheers
