Hi,
Welcome to Rootschat. :)
Not sure if this is the right area but there is a Leigh cemetery in this list, plus details of search costs:

Hi and welcome
I can't see anyone of that name in the death indexes. Approximately when was he born, and did he ever go by another name?

Hi,
Welcome to Rootschat :)
The only one I can see is,
Birth
Gary A TAWSE Sep Q 1962 Leigh 10d 18
Mother's Maiden Surname: PASQUILL
Death
Gary Antony TAWSE Jan 1986 Gloucester 22 2312
DOB: 13 Jun 1962

Maybe his body was returned home for burial?

Welcome to Rootschat from me too ;D
If the chap that Daisypetal found is the right one,he had two sisters.
I won't name them here as they will no doubt still be alive and Rootschat has a policy of not mentioning living relatives.
Once you have made 3 postings people will be able to send you Personal Messages.

:)Thankyou all very much for replying and your welcome! Gary did have to sisters i wont mention their names, this Gary does sound like the one i knew which daisypetal has suggested the right sort of age and now the spelling of the last name seems to ring a bell i do know a few more details but i not sure if or should divulge on here out of respect:
Death
Gary Antony TAWSE Jan 1986 Gloucester 22 2312
DOB: 13 Jun 1962
Age at Death: 23
I have been informed he was definatley buried at legh cemetry, i am pretty sure i know how he passed away, i feel a step closer to locating him it would mean a great deal to visit him, does any one know if there is a plot plan available of leigh cemetry?

The reason that Alexander couldn't see anyone of the right name was because he was looking for the surname TAWS. Daisypetal found in fact that it was spelt TAWSE.
Nanny Jan posted a link to the local cemeteries,it looks like they charge for a look up,but maybe as you know which one it was you could just email and ask them.

I had restricted my search to 1980 +/- 5 years and there was only one Gary who died in Leigh district in that time period - so I thought perhaps he used another surname. It looks like Daisypetal found the right one though.

The death cert will give the reason for his death and note if there was an inquest-usual for someone so young.
Use http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ and they will charge you £9-25.
Local papers in the area he died (and possibly even where he came from) may have covered the story.
