I have been given a picture of my great great grandmother at her daughters wedding. Trying to decide which one is the brides mother is the problem. The lady on the bottom left of the picture is a strong possibility.
Would what she is wearing with those veil type things on each shoulder suggest to anyone else that she is the brides mother. She is an Irish Settler in New Zealand and the year of the wedding is 1911

Hi NZ Kimmie,
Might she have been a widow by 1911? I wonder if the individual in the photo is wearing widow's dress.

Thats a good thought Spades. She was listed as widow when she died in 1919 but as to when she became a widow, we dont know :(

Hi NZKimmie,
In the event that no one on the Photograph Recognition board is able to assist you two possible avenues are the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa in Wellington to see if any of their staff can assist.

Secondly National Library of New Zealand, also in Wellington. They have a photograph conservation section and their archivists might have an answer.

Good luck in your search.
