Title: George Gillies & family of
Post by: STAN54 on Monday 05 November 12 18:47 GMT (UK)
My fathers aunt Jessie Stanfield (born 1906) married George Gillies during the Second World War and moved to North Battlefield in 1947.

Aprroximately 1987, the last address we knew of was 1592 102nd Street North Battlefield Saskatchewan.

Her son Ron was a Canadian Mounted Police Officer and he had three children - Ronnie, Bradley and Lisa.

My father (now in his eighties) would like to get in touch with the family to complete some family history. He has already contacted the War Brides Association with no success. Any ideas welcomed.

www.northbattlefordlibrary.com

I would contact the library as they will have access to phone directories, newspapers, etc. and may be able to give you some information. Most libraries have an "Ask a Librarian" section or at least a contact section.

You have a house number and date of 1987 so that will help them to search for the family.

www.canada411.ca
is an online telephone directory and that may also help in your search.

You might also want to consider contacting the RCMP Veterans Association.  There website is http://rcmpvets.net/.  They might be able to help you find Ron.

You could also place a notice in the RCMP Quarterly Magazine, The best address I could find for contacting the Quarterly was http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/quart-trimest/submit-presenter-eng.htm.

Luck
