Thanks Althea.
No nothing specific, there just wasnt a death for him that looked right and he isnt with his wife on census except 1891 by 1911 she says widowed but Ancestry threw up the NZ angle. He was an architect .It most probably is him then as its such an unusual name.
thanks again
Isy ???

I,m very grateful
Isy ;D
His wife died 1922 so maybe he married Mary Anne after that date.
-
Hi Issy
What was his wife's name?
There are these 2 births
1902/17724 Cullerne Leslie Carroll / Margie/ Annie Henry
1901/9715 Cullerne Henry Owen / Mary/ Henry
and very few deaths on BDM's
1937/14999 Cullerne Henry Baylie 82Y
1946/34970 Cullerne Mary Ann 80Y
1977/41564 Cullerne Gladys May born 14 March 1904

1988/52579 Cullerne Henry Owen born 1 July 1900
1991/44604 Cullerne Leslie Carroll born 18 September 1903
obviously the informant for the death of Leslie Carroll Cullerne didn't know his birth year
Cheers Janette

His wife died 1922 so maybe he married Mary Anne after that date.
Hi Isy
Just a little more (in case you're interested about Mary Ann ? ) ;)
There doesn't appear to have been a marriage between Mary Ann (Marzie / Margie) and Henry Baylie CULLERNE.
Mary Ann was formerly known as (surname) SPERRY and the births, 1901 and 1902, of her sons with Henry, also appear on the Birth index under SPERRY.
She apparently came to NZ from the USA with a husband and 2 sons.
PapersPast has a couple of items regarding her brave soldier sons, Fabian and Reginald P. SPERRY.

"Auckland Star" - 24 September 1915 - Roll of Honour
[re: Francis Fabian M. SPERRY - s/o Mrs M. CULLERNE of 69 Summer Road, Auckland.
1919 - Auckland West e/roll has - Mary Ann and Henry CULLERNE, Architect, at that same address. ]
"Evening Post" (Wellington) - 11 December 1917 - Personal Matters
[re: R.P. SPERRY (Reginald) - s/o Mrs CULLERNE ]

Hello Isy
I have only recently started researching my family tree and this is my first ever post on Rootschat having enrolled today. I thought I would start by just doing a forum search on one of my family names (obviously avoiding Jones and Davies) and so picked Cullerne. I was amazed to find a thread referring to Henry Baylie Cullerne who I am related to.
He was the son of Charles Pultney Cullerne who in turn was the son of Baylie Cullerne but I guess that you probably already know all of this. I was wondering what your relationship is to him and how far back you have managed to trace the Cullernes?
Apologies for my enquiry but this is all new to me and quite exciting spotting a name from my tree. Not sure how to send PMs or if they are possible on Rootschat.
Nick

Maybe a different Henry Baylie Cullerne on mine his father is Baylie Cullerne and mother Elizabeth Rowland, according to his baptism record 25 Dec 1819

Hi Althea,
Thanks very much for the welcome message and the info.
Regarding the thread subject I am now a bit confused as the initial post was asking about a Henry Baylie Cullerne born 8 Sept 1856 in Gravesend, Kent which is a match I have in my family tree but now Isobelruss you say he was baptised in 1819?
I did point out that I am new to this and I may have errors (ie wrong parent names) further down the ancestral line, but as there were unlikely to have been two Henry Baylie Cullernes born in Gravesend in 1856 I thought it was worth asking if there was a family link.
-
sorry fleetfoot.
Henry Baylie Cullerne was born 8 Sep 1856 baptized as an adult 19 Nov 1884 at same place he married in 23 Apr 1885 to Alice Rebecca Edwardes his certificate gives Baylie Henry Cullerne as his father and I have him on census with him and his mother Mary Ann Cartwright. He had a daughter with Alice in 1887 Gladys Mary Cullerne.I have her marriage, baptism and will.He disappeared from England after her birth and appears in Australia.
-
Hi Fleetfoot
Sorry to confuse
What I meant was if you have a new query on the family it may help to start a thread with the heading eg
Baylie Henry Cullerne in New Zealand
People looking would see this current thread as query on an electoral roll
so sometime you are more likely to gather new family info and contacts if the thread name lures them to click and find more
Great to see some new poster popping in
Bye

Hi there - can anyone help please with electoral roll in 1936 in Christchurch new Zealand. I am trying to get the actual date of birth for Alfred William Wayman - born in Camberwell London in probably 1873. (Arrived NZ 1927 I think). Thanks, pauline
-
Hi Pauline
Mmm ... the electoral rolls won't help you in finding "date of birth" for this man.
The was no Christchurch e/roll in 1936 ... 1935 is the nearest.
1935 - Canterbury - Avon Roll
WAYMAN
- Alfred William - occupation: cook
- Arthur Herbert - pastrycook
- Rose Ann - married .... all residing at 48 Bligh Street.
~ Lu
-
This death > @ NZ BDM (online)
1950 - WAYMAN - Alfred William Blundell - 78 years [bc 1872 ]
Is this who you were looking for ?
-
If thats your man that Lucy found heres his marriage
5 Nov 1905
Alfred William Wayman 38 bachelor cook abode 128 Waterloo Street,Father Watson Wayman(deceased) compositor
Rose Ann Cook 29 spinster of 18 Caspian Street, father George Cook french polisher
Emmanuel Church Camberwell.
so he would have been born 1867
But on most census hes was born 1873
they had twin daughter
Ada Elsie and Edith Florence baptised 21 Oct 1906 born 12 Aug 1906 Edith Florence died.Baptised Camberwell. Also another child Frederick born 1910.
do any of these names match your Alfred?
Alfred was born Lambeth. He had a sister Annabella born 1852 who I suspect could be his mother as his parents would have been a little old and such a massive age difference between the 2 children.
