Title: School football team 1938? Poss Sculcoates
Post by: sussexgirl on Tuesday 30 October 12 19:33 GMT (UK)
Hi, the attached photo belongs to my father-in-law who is holding the ball.  Sadly he has dementia and can't remember where it was taken, he says it was a school team.  He was born in 1925 in Drypool and the schools he went to were Lime Street, Mersey Street and Flinton Grove.  The only boy he remembers is the one next to him who he says is 'Spud' Hutton.  It would be great to find out who the others were, any ideas where I could make enquiries?
Thanks
SG

Hi

You could send a copy of the photo and details to the local newspaper, they often print these sort of requests in the flashback section.

There is a Facebook page called Hull - the good old days which welcomes photos such as yours and may possibly give you answers. Good luck.

Hi

You could also try Radio Humberside, the morning show with David Burns, might cover something like this.
