George Henry (sometimes Harold) Marr; b. Thorpe Bassett, Yorks March qr 1881; son of George Henry and Sara Stephenson; clerk 1901 Census, traveller 1911 Census.
Went to NSW c1912; married Janet (Nettie) Clark, Ashfield 1918; to NZ c1921.
He was a Methodist Home Missionary for the next ten years. There was a child of the marriage, though not named in local records. His wife died at Sydney in 1933, and after spending a year or so in NZ GHM returned to the UK c1938. He may have been a radio announcer in Sydney for a brief time.
Matters are confused by another George Henry Marr in NSW at that time - the latter's WW1 record clearly rules out any confusion - there must be two GHM's.
I am trying to discover what he did during the period c1912 and 1921 in NSW, and I would also like to know what he did when he returned to the UK, with his place and date of death.

Thanks, Merlin, for your response. I had found that death registration, and I now know that Thorpe Bassett is in the Ryedale Registration District. So there's a good chance it will be the man I'm looking for. I didn't enter that in my original data because I had no way of verifying it, and I am still left with a blank for that decade between 1937 and 1947.

I suggest you check the Electoral Rolls in the UK or post a request on the Yorkshire board of RC.
