I have recently found some information on a plot at Trealaw Cemetery which I am trying to confirm/eliminate a connection to my family.
GWEN GRIFFITHS GRAVE T129 DIED IN 1924
I was wondering whether anyone had transcripts of headstones or even photographs of same.
Many thanks in advance,
Paula

Hi Paula
As you have a plot number and date, have you tried contacting the cemeteries office?
http://www.rctcbc.gov.uk/en/communityliving/deaths,funeralscremations/cemeteries-generalinformation/cemeteries-generalinformation.aspx
They don't have email but do you have access to a fax machine?

You could contact Treorchy Library and ask them for a copy of the interment record, along with interment records for anybody else buried in the plot - this will give you the details of where the people lived who reported the death, the date of the funeral etc.
If you go to rctbc.gov.uk website,(rhondda cynon taf) look for leisure libraries culture click on libraries and then locations and opening hours, click on Treorchy and it will give you a link to their website - sent them an email requesting the info and they will come back to you when they have it

Hi Paula,
Some more info I did not give you if you contact Treorchy Library the Burial Number for Gwen Griffiths is 33741. It helps them find it on the Microfiche.
For photographs the only one to ask really is Vicky (Admin) on the Trealaw Cemetery site.
Regards
Brian
