Title: Pollock & McCormick
Post by: ADH on Friday 26 October 12 11:04 BST (UK)
I am looking for William Pollock dob-1794, and his wife Catherine McCormick 1815, she may have been married before to Boyd?
Both apparently come from Antrim area and moved to Paisley in Scotland around 1850.
9 children in total of which three were born in Ireland: William, Robert, Martin.

Any help would be great.
Regards
Alastair :)

Unfortunately the dates are well before the start of civil registration so it may be difficult to find any information. To search for church records you'll need to know both the family's religion and where they lived (parish if not actual townland).

Have a look at Introduction to Irish Records (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,442233.0.html) and My Ancestor came from Ireland - where do I start? (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,498742.0.html).

Many thanks Aghadowey, where would I be without you!

I have just found that Catherine was a widow with her 1st Marriage to David Boyd- her parents were David McCormick & Mary Brown. She subsequently married William Pollock.

William Pollocks parents were John Pollock and Margaret Adams.
None of this makes the search any easier, but I wil try the church records as you suggest.

Thanks for the direction! :)
