I am looking for a John Ratcliffe born Epsom c.1792 married to Harriet. I believe they are in the surrey area they have a son William Ratcliffe but i think that he won't be on a cenus with them as he was born c.1816.
If anyone can help that would be great :0)

I think I can see him in 1851 aged 59 a widower, living with his brother William, no luck yet on the 1841 though. :(
Looks as if he dies in 1855 Epsom

Hi
Looking at the original image of the 1851 Census, this could well be your John as the William he is living with is actually his son. The index has given an incorrect relationship between John and William, on the page it says Father not Brother....

There is a male Ratcliffe aged 50, living on Epsom Common in 1841. He is a labourer. Also in the household are Sarah (60) and William (20). The name has been transcribed as Jos on Ancestry, but it could be James or John!
