Hi Paul
My name is Scott Banister from NSW Australia. I was told you maybe able to help me out with some information regard my ancestory line - The Kennedys from Tipperary Ireland.
Earlier this year my Grandfather (Andrew Kennedy) passed away at 95 and I promised him that I would continue the search into his Irish Heriatge
I have hit a brick wall as the heritage of My GGGGrandfather Irish History. I have been able to prove that William Kennedy and his Son Andrew arrived in Port Jackson NSW in Dec 1829 aboard the Ship the Larkins II after being sentenced as convicts from Ireland (Co Cork I think?). William Kennedy born abt 1777 around Tipperarray. Andrew born abt 1809 in Clonmell, Tipperarry. They were both butchers.
Both were arrested during the Assize of Clomell (mentioned in the Eighth day) in Mar 1829 for stealing sheep and sentenced to 7 years Australia. I have found come up with a stumling block for any information before this. I have no idea what parish they came from. Is there anyway to find out as it so hard to get information back that far. I have most of there History from when they arrived in Australia and was wondering whether there is anyone that maybe able to help with there Irish history (before March 1829) as it would much be appreciated.
Thanks
Scott Banister
