Title: Pioneer corps, 174 company
Post by: bacday on Monday 22 October 12 23:15 BST (UK)
I've obtained my father's service records and I recently discovered that my father served with the Pioneer corps 174 company in WW2 in France, Holland and Germany from Aug 1944 until Apr 1946. I would love to know the details of what his company was doing and where he served. Could you help please? I wondered whether the company would have had a log? His name was William Lewis Peake, and his service no. was 142869
Many thanks

The War Diaries of that unit are at The National Archives. I found them by searching on 174 and "Pioneer Corps" - the locations will start to tell a story.

These haven't yet been digitised as far as I know so you'd need to go to Kew or get someone to look things up for you.
